Children's events

We run the following free drop-in events for young children:

  • Bookstart Rhymetime: Fridays 10am -10:30am (babies and toddlers)
  • Fortnightly Saturday Craft Workshops for 4 years and over from 2.30pm-4.00pm. Please contact the library for details of dates and topics
  • Book Buddies: Enjoy stories, colouring and crafts. For children under 7. Every Monday, 4.00pm - 4.30pm

Adult reading group

Our adult reading group takes place on the second or third Thursday in the month and runs between 6pm and 7pm. Please contact the library for details of dates and the book being discussed.

Adult activities

  • Knit & Natter, every other Friday, 2.30pm – 4.30pm
  • Craft Workshops, monthly on a Tuesday, 2.30pm – 4.30pm
  • Free monthly author talks
  • Please contact the library for dates and further details.
  • First Thursday of every month between 2.30 - 4.30pm, free 15 minute sessions with nutritionist Elke Westerkamp, BSC and MSC in the science of nutrition. Contact Shirley to reserve a place.
  • Last Thursday of the every month between 2.30 - 4.30pm games club including Chess, Monopoly and Scrabble led by volunteer who plays at county level. Beginners and advanced players welcomed to this drop-in.

Computer sessions for beginners

One-to-one sessions for computer beginners and those looking to learn something new are offered by our friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, on Monday mornings, Thursday afternoons and Friday afternoons.

Please contact the library for further details and slots. Sessions are subject to the availability of our IT volunteers, and may need to be changed at short notice.

Food waste bags

The food waste bags are now priced at £5.99 for 100.

You can now buy these from all Croydon Libraries.

Green waste bags

You can now buy these from all Croydon Libraries. We sell them for £1 each.

Our display boards are available for use free of charge to advertise your club or society.
